IMA’S GOODIES
Ministry to IDF Soldiers
Renee’s ministry began when her own son was in the Israel Defence Force. As Israeli mothers do, she sent him homemade cakes, which quickly became so popular among his comrades that she soon began treating various units with her baked goods and other delicious treats.
Renee launched “Ima’s Goodies” in 2014, following the kidnapping of three teenagers at the Gaza border, which led to the discovery of numerous tunnel systems and a large-scale military operation involving over 75,000 reservists.
Renee describes her motivation for starting Ima’s Goodies as follows:
“We thought it was important for the soldiers to know that there are believers here in Israel and also in the nations who love and support them. That’s when I picked up my mixing bowl and supplies and went to work.“
She has since redesigned her kitchen to accommodate large-scale baking. Ima’s Goodies has become a ministry that is very popular among the soldiers. They often ask her why she does this, and she is able to encourage many through her testimony.
