This means that they are God-fearing people who are guided by the Holy Spirit.

The followers of Jesus Christ were called Christians by the people.
Therefore, let us take a closer look at the name “Jesus Christ”:

Jesus was born a Jew in Israel and was called “Yeshua” in Hebrew.
The name Yeshua means “the Lord is salvation (rescue/redemption)”.

Christ means “mashiach” (Messiah) in Hebrew, which means “the anointed one”.
